Welcome to My Long Melford!
Welcome to My Long Melford, the website by the residents of the historic village of Long Melford directly in the heart of Suffolk. A typical English village, Long Melford was made famous through its astounding history. Artists Thomas Gainsborough and John Constable both visited this gorgeous little village, and it served as the inspiration for many of their works due to its stunning natural walks, stately Manor Houses, and our mighty, historic church. As a village, we are able to boast an impressive 100 listed buildings. Visit us to see original photographs of these historic landmarks, and find out their individual stories. In more recent history, Long Melford has become famous for its role as one of the main filming locations in the ever popular series Lovejoy on the BBC, as well as having been featured in historian Micheal Wood's TV series The Great British Story; A People's History.
